Turkey's energy imports increase by 38.4% in Oct.

Turkey's energy imports increased by 38.4 percent to $3.24 billion in October from $2.34 billion year-on-year, according to Turkish Statistical Institute's (Turkstat) data Thursday.

The data shows that Turkey's imports in October 2017 totaled $21.26 billion, out of which energy accounted for nearly 15 percent.

Additionally, the country's crude oil imports showed nearly a 5.5 percent increase in October compared to the same period of 2016.

Turkey imported approximately 2.28 million tons of crude oil in October 2017, up from 2.16 million tons for the same period in 2016.
