Germany's Christoph Daum has ended his term as Romania coach after failing to lead the team to the 2018 World Cup.
"I have just signed the annulment contract. I wanted to end the whole thing," Daum told dpa on Thursday.
Daum, 63, coached the Romanian team for 15 months. Romania lie fourth in their group with two games left, 10 points behind leaders Poland and seven adrift of Montenegro and Denmark.
Daum said the Romanian federation was yet to decide on a new coach but wanted to sign a Romanian.
