Turkish youngsters claimed 11 medals in the World Cadet, Junior and U21 Karate Championships in Spain's Tenerife city on Sunday.
In the 84 plus kilogram (185 plus pound) kumite category, Turkey's Alpaslan Yamanoglu became the world champion after beating his Italian opponent, 4-1, on the last day of the event.
Also, in the men's 75-kilogram (165-pound) kumite category, Turkish citizen Fatih Sen defeated his Moroccan opponent 3-1 to bag the bronze medal, achieving his career best.
In men's 60-kilogram (132-pound) category, Eray Samdan defeated his Belarusian opponent 2-1 to bag another bronze medal for Turkey.
In the women's 55-kilogram (121) category, Asena Pekmezoglu managed to claim the bronze medal, defeating her Brazilian opponent Sabrina Pereira, 3-1.
Turkey won 11 medals in total, coming in third in the overall standings during the five-day tournament that was held between Oct. 25 and Sunday.
