Beşiktaş defeated Galatasaray 3-0 in Turkey's Super Lig derby match at Istanbul's Vodafone Park on Saturday evening.
The final derby game of the year saw Beşiktaş take care of business in the second half, with Cenk Tosun, Dusko Tosic and Alvaro Negredo all scoring for the Black Eagles.
The home team missed a clear opportunity at the beginning of the match, but the lethal striker Tosun benefited from Galatasaray goalie Fernando Muslera's mistake to find the net in the 46th minute.
In the 70th minute, Babel's shot was deflected by Galatasaray defense, however the ball landed in front of Tosic, who calmly finished the one-on-one situation against Muslera.
Spanish striker Negredo said the final word in the 90th minute, when he managed to get past two Galatasaray defenders and also dribbled past Muslera to score an easy goal for Beşiktaş.
The Istanbul club's streak is now extended to 10 consecutive matches without a derby victory.
Galatasaray, who did not get a win in the last 15 matches against Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, Başakşehir or Trabzonspor, managed to draw in only four of those matches.
In Beşiktaş side, the derby victory was celebrated joyfully with fans. Beşiktaş also snapped a two-match winless streak, when they had back to back 0-0 results against Akhisarspor and Yeni Malatyaspor.
Beşiktaş increased their points total to 26, while Galatasaray was left with 29 points.
Başakşehir, currently ranked second, can move to first place on Sunday with a win against Osmanlıspor.
