Seven PKK terrorists were killed during a counterterrorism operation in northeastern Kars province on Thursday, according to a regional governor.
The operation was launched in Sesveren Valley in the province's Kagizman district at around 6.30 a.m. local time (0330 GMT), Kars Governor Rahmi Dogan told Anadolu Agency.
Turkish jets killed five terrorists early in the morning, Dogan said. Later, two other terrorists who had managed to escape were also killed in the operation, he added.
Last month, eight terrorists were also neutralized in another operation in the same region.
