Turkey and Pakistan's "historic and ancient" ties are going from strength to strength, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said Friday.
"The people of Pakistan have always shown their friendship and brotherhood to our country whenever we fell into hardship," he told reporters following a meeting with a Pakistani delegation led by Pakistan's Commerce Minister Muhammad Pervaiz Malik.
The Pakistani minister said: "Unfortunately terror is a common issue, which we mutually experience, and has taken many lives, caused a lot of damage.
"Along with all the damage it causes, it also causes great damage to the country's economy. Turkey, skilfully, succeeds in combatting terror. You have a serious experience.
"Sharing this experience between the countries is a matter of discussion. We believe that Turkey is a role model for the Islamic countries. We also believe that we must combat terror together."
