The Fetullah Terrorist Organization's (FETÖ) 'Zaman Vandaag' newspaper, published in the Netherlands, changed its name to 'deKanttekening,' which is Dutch for footnote.
After the failed July 15 coup in Turkey, FETÖ has changed many of its institutions' names in an attempt to rebrand the terrorist organization and continue its activities.
The Zaman Vandaag newspaper changed its name on May 3, and said in a statement that the publication would take a new route and cater to the Dutch population in general, and not the Turkish community alone.
The statement also added that the publication's format and design were also changing.
'Zaman Scandinavia', which was distributed in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, stopped publishing. After July 15, the publication was not able to receive advertisements and therefore published online for a brief period. The media outlet has closed its offices.
While 'Zaman England' continued to broadcast for a while after the coup attempt, the newspapers website stopped being updated on Jul. 26, 2016. The office of FETÖ's umbrella organization in Britain, Axis, was emptied.
The 'Zaman Germany' newspaper closed down on Nov. 30, 2016. The newspaper, which was published six days a week, continued to briefly broadcast from the internet, but then ended this activity. Another website of the company stated that they would not close, but decided to establish an association for financial support.
The 'Zaman Belgium' newspaper, which was distributed in France and Belgium, also put an end to their publication in August last year. The internet sites of these newspapers were also closed.
The 'Zaman Austria' and 'Zaman Switzerland' also shared the fate of the other Zaman media publications.
