Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Friday gave a Turkish national ID card to seven-year-old Syrian activist Bana Alabed, who recently fled to Turkey from the war-torn Syrian city of Aleppo.
Bana, her mother, father and two little brothers -- who were also granted Turkish citizenship -- had been among thousands of people evacuated from the regime-besieged city of Aleppo last December.
Shortly after the Alabed family's arrival in Turkey, they were officially welcomed by Erdoğan and his wife, Emine, in capital Ankara.
