President Erdoğan to pay official visit to Poland on Oct. 17

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will go to Poland on Oct. 17 upon invitation from his Polish counter Duda to hold bilateral and intercommittee meetings.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will pay an official visit to Poland on Oct. 17, upon invitation from Polish President Andrzej Duda, Turkish Presidency said on Saturday.

Erdoğan will have bilateral and intercommittee meetings with his Polish counterpart, according to a statement from the Turkish president's press office.

Erdoğan will also meet Poland's Prime Minister Beata Szydlo, as well as presidents of two wings of the Polish parliament, the Senate and Sejm.

Agreements in various fields are expected to be signed during the visit, added the statement.

Turkey and Poland have over 600 years of friendship and they became strategic partners in 2009, according to the statement.

Turkey gives great importance to improve cooperation with its ally Poland in every field, and hopes the visit will further enhance the bilateral relations so as to benefit the whole region, it also said.
