Four suicide bombers suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents have been killed in multiple explosions that rocked Nigeria's northeastern city of Maiduguri on Tuesday.
Police Commissioner Damian Chukwu also confirmed eight people were wounded.
The suicide bombers -- all female -- targeted farmers working near the city center early Tuesday and detonated explosives strapped to their bodies, Chukwu said.
He added that one of the bombers was shot dead by security personnel while attempting to blow up herself.
Nobody has claimed responsibility but the police said the attack was similar to previous suicide bombings carried out by Boko Haram in the area in its nearly seven-year campaign of violence.
Two suicide bombers were intercepted a week ago by security personnel while attempting to infiltrate the city.
