Death toll from cholera outbreak in Sudan rises to 473
The death toll from Sudan's cholera outbreak has reached 473, with nearly 15,000 reported cases, according to the Health Ministry. Heavy rains and flooding since June have exacerbated the situation, prompting authorities to declare an epidemic on August 12.

The number of deaths from the ongoing cholera outbreak in Sudan has risen to 473, Sudanese Health Ministry announced on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the total number of cholera cases in the country has reached 14,944, the ministry said in a statement.
The heavy rains and floods that have been affecting Sudan since June have contributed to the spread of cholera.
Sudanese authorities declared cholera an epidemic on Aug. 12.
