Twenty-seven people have died in a fire in a mine in Peru, the Peruvian newspaper La República reported late Saturday, citing information from the authorities.
The accident occurred on Saturday in the Yanaquihua mine in the province of Condesuyos.
The fire was caused by a short circuit, the report said.
Twenty-seven miners working in the mine suffocated in the fire.
