UN Security Council approves international force for Haiti

The United Nations Security Council on Monday voted to send an international Kenyan-led mission to Haiti in an effort to bring stability to the gang-plagued Caribbean nation, which has called for the force since late last year.
The resolution, which passed with 13 votes in favor and two abstentions, also imposes a small arms embargo, which had previously only applied to sanctioned gang leaders.
