Damaged in PKK attack, Mar Petyun Chaldean Church reopens after restoration in southeastern Türkiye
The Mar Petyun Chaldean Catholic Church in Diyarbakir, southern Turkey, has reopened after undergoing restoration. The church was damaged during the 2015 PKK terror attacks in the central Sur district of Diyarbakir and underwent a four-year restoration process, which began in 2019.

Mar Petyun Chaldean Catholic Church in southern Türkiye's Diyarbakir province reopened with a ceremony on Saturday after restoration.
The church was damaged in the 2015 PKK terror attacks in the central Sur district of Diyarbakir and its four-year restoration was started in 2019.
The restoration work was completed under the supervision of the General Directorate of Foundations, with funding provided by the Turkish Environment, Urban Planning, and Climate Change Ministry.
