China provides details on respiratory illness outbreaks to WHO

Chinese health authorities provided requested data on an increase in respiratory illnesses and reported clusters of pneumonia in children, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Thursday.
The Chinese authorities said there has been no detection of unusual or novel pathogens or unusual clinical presentations, including in Beijing and the northeastern province of Liaoning, according to a WHO statement.
