At least 10 people died and five others are missing from severe flooding and landslides across Sri Lanka due to heavy rainfall, the country's defense minister said Sunday.
Premitha Bandara Tennakoon said that search and rescue operations are underway for the five missing individuals.
Local media reported widespread damage in numerous areas across the island nation as it grapples with heavy rainfall brought on by monsoons.
