Today, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held closed-door meetings in Brussels with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken ahead of the upcoming NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting in the Belgian capital.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan visited Brussels as part of the NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting.
Before today's meeting, Fidan met with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.
Minister Fidan also held a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
During the meeting, the recent developments in Gaza and Sweden's NATO membership process were discussed.
According to the statement from the ministry, the meeting aimed to evaluate the security situation in the Euro-Atlantic region during a period when "war in Ukraine and the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza continue."
Additionally, it was noted that developments in the Balkans would be discussed, and plans were made for the first NATO-Ukraine Council session at the level of Foreign Ministers.
