FM Fidan: Iran and Pakistan don't want to escalate tensions in the region

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that Iran and Pakistan are both aiming to avoid any further increase in tensions within the region. This statement comes after Fidan held phone calls with officials from both nations, which had engaged in retaliatory attacks across their shared border over the past 48 hours.

Iran and Pakistan do not want to escalate tensions in the region, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Thursday after holding calls with counterparts from the two countries which traded cross-border strikes in the last two days.

At a news conference in Jordan, Fidan said Türkiye recommended that the sides do not escalate further and that calm should be restored as soon as possible.
