Turkey-Montenegro economic committee meets in Ankara

Deputy Prime Minister Recep Akdağ and his Montenegrin counterpart Milutin Simovic attended the meeting at Çankaya Palace.
Montenegro's Education Minister Damir Sehovic, Transport Minister Osman Nurkovic, Health Minister Kenan Hrapovic, Ambassador of Montenegro to Ankara Branko Milic and representatives from Turkish ministries participated in the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, Akdağ said technical committees would analyze steps that could be taken to further enhance bilateral economic ties.
Akdağ noted the outcomes of the meeting would be declared on Friday.
Simovic said the meeting demonstrated good ties between Turkey and Montenegro.
He Turkish investors to explore opportunities in Montenegro.
Simovic said cooperation in forestry, agriculture and defense industry sectors would be discussed along with programs on energy, health, and education.
Turkey's export to Montenegro stood at $51.8 million last year while its import from the country was nearly $23.4 million in the same period, according to Turkish Statistical Institute.
