Turkey's largest agriculture fair opens in Izmir

Turkey's largest agriculture and livestock fair opened in the Aegean province of Izmir on Thursday.
"We expect a $500 million trade volume at the fair," Fatih Tan, chairman of the 13th Agroexpo International Agriculture and Livestock Fair, told its opening ceremony with the attendance of Ahmet Esref Fakibaba, Turkey's food, agriculture and livestock minister.
The fair features exhibits on such subjects as agricultural mechanization, greenhouse technologies, water and irrigation systems, fertilizers, and ecological agriculture.
In terms of the number of exhibitors and visitors, the fair is also the fourth-largest agricultural fair in Europe, according to its official website.
The fair, which ends on Sunday, is expecting to bring 850 companies together with 285,000 visitors, said the website.
