Sales of Fiat's best-selling car Egea has reached 100,000, the company announced on Friday.
Production of Egea, which is the most preferred car in the last two years in Turkey, started in 2015 with the Turkish Automotive Company's (Tofaş) $1 billion investment.
"Sales of Egea, which is the five millionth car produced by Tofaş, started in Turkey first, and it spread in the European market fractionally," it said in a press release.
The 100,000th Egea, bought in capital Ankara, was a 1.6-liter engined, automatic transmission sedan, the company said.
Fiat has sold 90,000 sedans and 10,000 hatchbacks and station wagons of Egea since 2015's last quarter -- 33 months.
Egea's name comes from the Aegean Sea, and the car's name is known as "Tipo" in the Europe market.
