Turkey's benchmark stock index went up 0.83 percent to close at 96,952.23 points on Tuesday.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index ended the day with a 794.49-point hike from Monday's close of 96,157.74 points, while it started the day at 95,942.24 points.
The total market value of listed shares on the BIST 100 was 639.37 billion Turkish liras ($130.88 billion) at the close, while the total trade volume of the benchmark index was around 8.05 billion Turkish liras ($1.64 billion).
The benchmark index hovered between 95,794.28 points and 97,231.61 points during trading hours, while 60 stocks on the BIST 100 rose, 31 fell, and nine were flat compared to the previous close.
Among all sectors, the BIST mining index was the top gainer, up 2.84 percent, while the food beverages sector saw the biggest decline as its index went down 1.11 percent.
Stocks of casting producer Cemas Dokum (CEMAS) recorded the worst performance, down 5.02 percent, and shares of Anel Elektrik (ANELE), operates as electrical and engineering contractor, showed the best performance of the day with a 6.08 percent increase.
The BIST 100's most-traded listed companies were national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, private lender Garanti, major polyester producer Sasa, prominent defense company Aselsan, and iron and steel producer Kardemir.
One U.S. dollar traded for 4.9110 Turkish liras as of 5 p.m. local time (1400GMT), up from 4.8850 at Monday's close.
The euro/lira exchange rate was 5.7510 by market close, versus 5.7200 at the previous close, and one British pound traded for 6.4570 Turkish liras, while the GBP/TRY rate was 6.4290 at Monday's close.
In Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, one ounce of gold traded for $1,220 as of 4.30 p.m. local time (1330GMT) Tuesday, down from $1,223 at the previous close.
As of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT), the price of Brent oil stood at $74.69 per barrel -- hovering between $74.39 and $75.62 during the day -- climbing from around $66 at the beginning of 2018.
