Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at close

Turkey's benchmark stock index ended the day up 0.57 percent to close at 94,886.87 points on Tuesday.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 539.21 points from Monday's close of 94,347.66 points, while it started the day at 94,735.52 points.
At close, the market value of listed shares on the BIST 100 totalled 623.5 billion Turkish liras ($99.5 billion), while the trade volume of the benchmark index was 6.44 billion Turkish liras ($1 billion).
During Tuesday's trading, the benchmark index hovered between 94,538.06 points and 95,374.88 points, as 55 stocks on the BIST 100 rose, 33 fell, and 12 were flat compared to the previous close.
Among all sectors, the BIST transportation index was the top gainer of the day, rising 2.77 percent, while the BIST leasing factoring index did the worst, losing 1.60 percent.
Shares of energy and construction company Isiklar Enerji Yapi Holding (IEYHO) showed the best performance -- up 8.70 percent -- and stocks of real estate investment trust Ihlas Gayrimenkul (IHLGM) saw the biggest drop, dropping 4.76 percent.
The BIST 100's trade volume leaders on Tuesday were national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, top defense company Aselsan, private lenders Garanti Bankasi and Is Bankasi, and iron and steel producer Kardemir.
As of the daily close, Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding had the top market value on the BIST 100 with some $6.63 billion, followed by iron and steel producer Eregli Demir Celik and energy giant Tupras, with market values of $6.15 billion and $5.17 billion, respectively.
The USD/TRY exchange rate climbed to 6.3740 as of 5 p.m. local time (1400GMT) Tuesday, up from Monday's close of 6.2860.
By market close, the euro/Turkish lira rate also rose to 7.4590, compared with 7.3550 at the previous close.
One British pound traded for 8.4100 Turkish liras, while the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 8.2890 at Monday's close.
In Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, one ounce of gold traded for $1,201.50 by market close on Tuesday, up from $1,197.50 at the previous close.
As of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT), the price of Brent oil stood at $79.16 per barrel -- hovering between $77.50 and $79.72 during the day -- climbing from around $66 at the beginning of 2018.
