Turkey's benchmark stock index surged 0.32 percent to close at 94,747.53 points on Thursday.
Starting the day at 93,924.67 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index recorded a 306.84-point hike from Wednesday's close of 94,440.69 points.
The BIST 100's daily peak was 95,117.23 points while it fell to 93,480.39 points during Thursday's trading. Compared with the previous close, 42 stocks on the index rose, 53 fell, and five were flat.
Among all sectors, the BIST wholesale and retail trade index was the top gainer -- up 2.95 percent --,and the BIST sports index showed the largest decline -- down 5.22 percent.
Stocks of casting producer Cemas Dokum (CEMAS) increased the most second day in a row, rising 19.83 percent, while shares of Turkish sports club Fenerbahce (FENER) performed the worst, falling 9.45 percent.
Daily trade volume of the BIST 100's listed companies was at 7.1 billion liras ($1.18 billion), ending the day with a total market value of 621.5 billion liras ($102 billion).
Thursday's market value leaders were Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding ($6.85 billion), iron and steel producer Eregli Demir Celik ($6.12 billion), and energy giant Tupras ($5.63 billion).
Most traded companies on the BIST 100 were lenders Garanti and Halkbank, national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, defense company Aselsan and petrochemicals producer Petkim.
As of daily close, the USD/TRY exchange rate stood at 5.9930, down from 6.0380 at the previous close.
The euro/lira rate fell to 6.9350, versus 6.9580 at Wednesday's close, and the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 7.9370 while one British pound exchanged for 7.9760 Turkish liras at the previous close.
One ounce of gold was sold for $1,202.60 at Thursday's close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, while the price was $1,187.00 at the previous close.
The price of Brent oil was around $81.25 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT), hovering between $81.15 and $82.71 during Thursday's trading.
Since the beginning of this year, Brent oil price has risen from $66 a barrel.
