Turkey will host a global gathering of flour-based industrialists in the resort city of Antalya later this month.
The Mediterranean city will host the 15th Turkish Flour Industrialists' Federation (TFIF) International Congress and Exhibition on April 25-28.
The annual event, with the theme Global Trade Wheat and Licensed Warehousing, will attract some 1,000 national and international representatives, the federation said in a statement on Friday.
Bringing together flour industrialists, dealers, suppliers, mill mechanics, and bread and bakery products manufacturers, the event will have at least 50 exhibition areas.
The congress aims to strengthen trade relations for existing markets and to establish new ties.
Expected to attend the event are Turkey's agriculture and forestry minister and trade minister, the head of Turkey's Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges, and the president of the International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM).
Last month the federation assumed the Eurasia region administration of the international millers group.
The federation, founded in 2004, represents 90 percent of the Turkish flour sector with over 400 members in Turkey.
The IAOM, founded in 1896, represents around 70 countries worldwide and focuses on improving profitability and efficiency in the milling and wheat sectors.
Turkey was the world's top flour seller over the last six years, and its 2018 exports reached 3.5 million tons worth $1.1 billion, according to TFIF data.
