Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up 0.89% at opening session

Turkey's benchmark stock index started the day at 118,792.38 points on Thursday, up 0.89%, or 1,051.28 points.
At Tuesday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 0.56% at 117,741.10 points with a daily trading volume of 23.27 billion Turkish liras ($3.39 billion).
The stock exchange was closed on Wednesday due to a public holiday, July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 6.8580 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Thursday, compared to 6.8670 at Tuesday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 7.8200 from 7.8170 and one British pound traded for 8.6230 Turkish liras, same with Tuesday's close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $43.45 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Thursday.
