Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,150.79 points on Monday, rising 0.50% or 5.76 points from the previous close.
At the last week's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.13% at 1,145.03 points, with a daily trading volume of 20.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.6 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose slightly to 7.7620 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 7.7580 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 9.1020 from 9.0890, while one British pound traded for 10.0640 Turkish liras, versus 10.0630 at Friday's close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $40 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
