Global smartphone giants from China and Far East will make investment and start production in Turkey soon, Turkish industry and technology minister said on Saturday.
About Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo's decision to expand investment in Turkey, Mustafa Varank told Anadolu Agency that Oppo will generate 1,000 new jobs in the country, adding that production is planned for this February.
Other Far Eastern companies will also announce investments in Turkey soon, he said, adding: "We will probably hear from other brands in 2021."
He noted Turkey will have a capacity to produce 10 million smartphones annually in the coming years.
