German economic growth slowed to 1.9 percent in 2022, with GDP "stagnating" in the fourth quarter as energy prices surged after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the statistics agency said Friday.

Europe's top economy expanded at a slower pace than the 2.6-percent growth in 2021, although the figure was still slightly better than the 1.8 percent expected by analysts.
