Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Tourism has announced new measures to streamline the entry visa process for citizens from six countries, including Türkiye.
In a statement released on the official social media platform of the Saudi Ministry of Tourism, it was revealed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has expanded the range of visit visas to include six countries.
The statement clarified that visit visas can now be obtained electronically or upon arrival in Saudi Arabia for citizens of Türkiye, Panama, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Seychelles, Mauritius, and Thailand.
Moreover, the statement highlighted that individuals with visit visas from these countries are permitted to embark on Umrah pilgrimages in addition to tourist visits. However, it was emphasized that these visas do not grant permission for employment in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia's decision to open up its historical and cultural sites in 2016 was part of its efforts to promote tourism in line with its 2030 vision. The country aims to diversify its economy, which is heavily reliant on oil, and has set a target to attract 100 million visitors annually by 2030, generating employment opportunities for one million people in the tourism sector.
