The Taiwanese airline EVA Air has placed a major new order with Airbus for 18 A350-1000 long-haul jets and 15 A321neo medium-haul jets.
The order has a total value of $10.1 billion, although steep discounts are common for major airlines.
EVA Air said that the A350 jets are to replace Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, of which the airline has 34 in its fleet. Some of the aircraft are almost 20 years old.
The airline is also in the process of replacing older Airbus A330s with new Boeing 787s.
