Bulgaria's Socialists on Friday gave up plans to form a government after failing to muster enough support in a deadlocked parliament, Socialist leader Kornelia Ninova said.

The Socialists will return the mandate to form a government to President Rumen Radev on Monday, Ninova said, a move expected to prompt Radev to call new snap polls in the Balkan country.
