Thirteen people were injured in a bus accident in Venice's Mestre district in northern Italy on Saturday evening, after the electric bus came off the road in a turn and crashed into a residential building.
Except for the driver, all the injured were released from the hospital on Sunday. Shortly after the accident the police initially spoke of 15 injured people.
According to Italian media reports, the driver of the bus that crashed on Saturday said he had lost control due to a health problem.
Only earlier this month, 21 people lost their lives in a bus accident in Venice. Both buses belong to the La Linea company.
Earlier in the week, the Italian public prosecutor's office opened investigations into La Linea's managing director and two city council officials responsible for bridge and road maintenance following the deadly accident on October 3, when a tourist bus broke through a barrier, plunged 15 metres off a bridge and went up in flames.
The vehicle had been carrying tourists from the historic centre of Venice to a campsite in nearby Marghera.
An autopsy carried out on the 40-year-old driver showed that he was healthy, following initial speculation that he might have suffered a fainting spell. Now a technical defect is being investigated.
Meanwhile, the city has announced the buses from that company will no longer be used.
