Moldova has shown it wants a "European future", EU Commission president Ursula von der Leyen said on Monday in response to results showing that a slight majority of Moldovans in a referendum voted in favour of joining the EU.
"In the face of Russia's hybrid tactics, Moldova shows that it is independent, it is strong and it wants a European future!," von der Leyen said in a post on X.
