German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Saturday said that while Europe must build up its defence industry, Germany would also keep buying US-made military hardware.
Scholz called for a "strong European arms industry" but added that "we are not giving up the transatlantic integration of our defence industries. We will continue to buy new American military equipment in the future."
