Lawmakers in the EU parliament's leftwing Greens group demanded the institution speed up a probe into foreign influence after Germany on Tuesday arrested a far-right MEP's aide on suspicion of spying for China.
"We demand preliminary results before the (EU) elections" in June, said lead Green MEP Terry Reintke, adding that "autocracies like China and Russia are actively trying to undermine our democracies in Europe."
