Jaan Roose makes historic tightrope walk from Asia to Europe in Istanbul

Jaan Roose walked across a tightrope from Asia to Europe in Istanbul.

In an event supported by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and the General Directorate of Highways, Roose successfully crossed a 1,074-meter-long tightrope 165 meters above sea level on the July 15 Martyrs Bridge in 47 minutes.

He became the first person to achieve an intercontinental tightrope walk.

After crossing, the Estonian athlete made a small walk on the rope while holding a Turkish flag.

Roose expressed his joy, stating, "The Bosphorus has thousands of years of cultural significance and incredible natural beauty. Combined with variable weather conditions and strong sea currents, it became a unique place for tightrope walking. I made history, so I am very happy."
