Moment of explosion at factory in Türkiye’s Balıkesir captured on camera

In the security camera footage from a farm located 600 meters away from the ammunition factory, the explosion that occurred at 08:27 AM on Tuesday, December 24, can be seen. The intensity of the blast caused flames to rise into the sky.
The footage shows the fireball and smoke that emerged after the explosion, highlighting the intensity of the blast.
Farm worker Ramazan Akkoyun, stating that he was at home during the explosion, said, 'It was a very violent explosion, the windows shook. I looked toward the factory. When I stepped out onto the balcony, I told my wife, 'The factory is on fire.' Then, as people gathered, we realized what had happened.'
On December 24, in the Karesi district of Balıkesir, an explosion and collapse occurred in the capsule production area of the ammunition factory where explosives were produced. As a result, 11 people lost their lives and 7 others were injured.
Ten of the victims were buried yesterday. Following the incident, a total of 10 people were detained as part of the ongoing investigation.
