A three-day Turkish film festival began on Friday in South Korea's capital Seoul to mark 60 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
According to a statement issued by Turkey's Culture and Tourism Ministry, the highlighted event on the first day was the screening of the Turkish movie "Ayla" that depicts the story of a 5-year-old orphaned Korean girl found on the battlefield by a Turkish soldier, who takes her under his protection.
Turkey nominated the movie for the Best Movie in Foreign Language category in the Oscars.
A number of distinguished films of the Turkish cinema will be put on screens for South Korean movie lovers.
During the event, the masterpieces of the Turkish cinema history and their banners will also be on display.
The festival will end on Sunday.
