Romanian food festival kicks off in Turkish capital

A Romanian food festival kicked off in Ankara on Wednesday.
The festival which will end on May 9 has been jointly organized by the Romanian Embassy and the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO at the Sheraton Hotel.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Romanian Ambassador to Turkey Gabriel Sopanda quoted Bernard Shaw saying "there is no love sincerer than the love of food".
"Our aim tonight is to present the cultural closeness between Romania and Turkey in the field of gastronomy," he said.
The ambassador said they are also celebrating 140 years of diplomatic relations between Romania and Turkey.
Professor Ocal Oguz, head of Turkey's commission for UNESCO, said the two countries share similar culinary culture.
