An early work by Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh sold for almost 7.1 million euros (8.3 million dollars) at auction in Paris late Monday.
"Raccommodeuses de filets dans les dunes" (Women mending nets in the dunes) from 1882 fetched 7,065,000 euros, well over the estimate of between 3 million and 5 million euros, according to auction house Artcurial.
The picture had previously been on loan from a private owner to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
