The number of people visiting Turkey's national parks under the protection of Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in the 9 months of the year reached almost 30 million.
Investments made in order to ensure that visitors are comfortable in natural areas under the protection of Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry showed the effect.
The interest of the citizens in natural parks was reflected in the figures. 29,812 people visited Turkey's national parks in the first 9 months of this year, whereas last year this number was 25 million.
Among the protected areas, Burç National Park in Gaziantep was the place that hosted the most visitors in the period of January-September.
The national park, which hosted 2 million 820 thousand 229 visitors in the 9 months this year ranked the first.
Burç National Park was followed by Kızılcahamam Soğuksu National Park in Ankara with 1 million 840 thousand 680 visitors.
The third national park, which is one of the most important winter tourism centers of Turkey was Uludağ National Park. 1 million 484 thousand people visited Uludağ National Park between January and September.
This national park is followed by Aydın Dilek Peninsula Büyük Menderes Delta National Park with 1 million 131 thousand visitors and Muğla Marmaris National Park with 1 million 114 thousand people.
