Moscow Zoo celebrates birthday of 2 giant pandas

Moscow Zoo celebrated on Wednesday birthdays of two giant pandas, gifted to Russian President Vladimir Putin by his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping as a symbol of friendship in April 2019.

Male panda Ru Yi and female Ding Ding got their favorite treats for the birthday as zoologists prepared for each of them an ice cake of 10 kilograms (22 pounds) with carrots, bamboo and apples.

Besides, a birthday ceremony was also organized in which a traditional Chinese parade with paper dragon was carried out from the zoo's entrance to the pandas' pavilion.

The event has been organized within the framework of wider celebration of the 70th anniversary of Russian-Chinese diplomatic ties.
