Italian surfer Giulia Manfrini, 36, died after being impaled by a swordfish while surfing off the coast of West Sumatra, Indonesia. Despite immediate medical attention, she could not be saved.
Italian surfer and influencer Giulia Manfrini, 36, was the victim of a tragic incident that occurred at Masokut Island, a popular surfing spot off the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia.
Manfrini was severely injured when a swordfish suddenly leaped out of the water and pierced her chest.
Two surfers who witnessed the accident immediately provided first aid and transported Manfrini to a nearby medical center; however, despite all efforts, she could not be saved.
Medical reports indicated that she had a 5-centimeter-deep wound in her chest and showed signs of drowning.
