Adele opens up about her struggle with alcohol and her journey to sobriety

Adele recently disclosed that during her 20s, she was struggling with being "borderline alcoholic," but has now attained sobriety.

"I stopped drinking quite a long time ago. ... It feels like forever, maybe like three and a half months ago," she revealed to her audience, expressing her longing for it despite acknowledging its risks.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, she reportedly consumed several bottles of wine before noon, a habit she realized needed to change amid her divorce and work on her album "30," as she explained in a conversation with Oprah Winfrey.

Adele, who shares an 11-year-old son, Angelo, with her ex-husband Simon Konecki, expressed her excitement about their upcoming celebrations. She described her son's mature and savvy nature, contrasting it with her perspective on childhood.

In her emotional journey, she also revealed the impact of her father's struggle with alcoholism, which eventually took his life. Adele's dedication to self-improvement and well-being has been integral, leading her to focus on fitness and health, contributing to her significant weight loss and overall emotional well-being.

"It was never about losing weight, it was always about becoming strong and giving myself as much time every day without my phone. I got quite addicted to it," she told British Vogue.
