At least 783 civilians were killed in attacks across war-torn Syria last month, according to a Syrian human rights group on Tuesday.
A total of 198 children and 138 women were among the civilian fatalities in Syria in March, the Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) said in a statement.
According to the statement, regime forces had committed 40 "massacres" in March, 39 of which took place in the Damascus suburb of Eastern Ghouta.
The NGO uses the term "massacre" to refer to attacks carried out by Syrian regime forces and their allies in the war-torn country.
"At least 620 people were killed [in these massacres], including 142 children and 105 women," the London-based NGO said.
Some 78 civilians were killed in four attacks committed by Russian forces in Syria last month, the NGO said, adding that 41 children were among the fatalities.
The PYD/PKK terrorist organizations perpetrated two "massacres" in Syria in March, in which 17 people were killed, including five women, the SNHR said.
Another 68 people were killed in eight attacks carried out by other armed groups in Syria last month, the NGO said.
