A Palestinian youth was shot and injured by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank on Saturday, according to Israeli police.
In a statement, police said the suspect was shot after he "acted suspiciously" near the Container checkpoint in Abu Dis, east of Jerusalem.
The Palestinian was shot in the leg and was detained for questioning, police said.
Local Palestinian sources said Israeli police prevented Palestinian medics from treating the injured youth before he was taken into custody.
The Palestinian territories have remained tense since last December, when U.S. President Donald Trump officially recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
Since March 30, more than 128 Palestinians have been killed -- and thousands more injured -- by Israeli army fire during anti-occupation protests in the Gaza Strip.
