Gaza-based resistance group Hamas on Friday hailed a recent meeting in Cairo between some of its leading members and Egyptian intelligence officers.
"The meeting, which ended late [Thursday]… dealt with all the issues that concern our people everywhere, especially in the Gaza Strip," Mousa Abu Marzook, a member of Hamas's political bureau, tweeted.
He went on to describe Thursday's meeting as one of "the most important and comprehensive in terms of content".
On Wednesday, a Hamas delegation traveled to Cairo from Gaza to hold talks with Egyptian officials.
Egypt had invited leaders of the group to discuss prospects for inter-Palestinian reconciliation and ongoing tensions along the Gaza-Israel security fence.
