Israeli Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Haim Katz has withdrawn recognition of degrees of Al-Quds University, south of east Jerusalem.
Katz argued that the move was taken due to the university's anti-Israel incitement, according to Israel Hayom newspaper on Tuesday.
"We will deal with the lack of social workers without going to institutions that undermine the legitimacy of Israel," he said.
Israel used to recognize social work degrees given by the university due to lack of enough social workers.
Israel has refused to recognize the university as a foreign university because of its branches in Jerusalem.
Founded in 1984, the main campus of Al-Quds University is located of Abu Dis town in southern Jerusalem.
The university is the only one in the world which is surrounded by a racist separation wall.
