An Israeli surveillance drone crashed inside the Gaza Strip on Tuesday before being seized by the military wing of Hamas, according to a well-informed Palestinian source.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source told Anadolu Agency that the drone had fallen to earth in the strip's southeast, roughly 150 meters from the Gaza-Israel buffer zone.
Members of the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas's armed wing, are now in possession of the downed pilotless aircraft, the source said.
The same source went on to assert that an Israeli force deployed near the buffer zone had opened fire on Hamas fighters in a failed attempt to prevent them from seizing the drone.
